The True Cost of Resistance
Stop Damaging Yourself with Resistance
Resistance is the inner “no” to what is happening.
It is the mental pushback against an event, a task, or a feeling and is always charged with emotion.
Sometimes it freezes you. Sometimes it drives you to act too soon.
Either way, the costs are real:
Wasted energy.
Resistance drains your battery before the work even begins.
Energy spent fighting reality is energy lost to progress and action..
Clouded judgment.
Resistance distorts decisions with urgency and frustration.
It shuts down clear thinking and narrows your vision just when you need it wide.
Prolonged suffering.
Resistance multiplies pain.
A five-minute problem can become hours of distress if you replay it again and again.
Narrowed problem-solving.
Resistance triggers fight-flight-freeze.
Options shrink.
Creativity dries up.
Solutions vanish.
Diminished effectiveness.
Depleted energy blunts the impact of your action.
Solutions are not as robust as they could be.
Resistance is the real productivity killer.
Resistance prevents the very improvements it desires.
It drains the resources needed for effective action.
And keeps you stuck in the situations you are resisting.
Remember: what you resist, persists.
In the weeks ahead, I will share how to dissolve resistance at its root.
TO TRY THIS WEEK:
For now, see the cost clearly.
Notice what resistance is already taking from you.
Where have you noticed resistance doing the most damage in your productivity?
